I received a “Your site has updated to WordPress x.x.x” email

I have been getting emails recently from WordPress that my site has been updated automatically. So what does this mean ? Should I be concerned by this email?

What is WordPress auto update ? Should I be concerned ?

Automatic background updates were introduced since WordPress 3.7. By default, every site has automatic updates enabled for minor core releases and translation files. You need not be concerned about the email you have received about the update. Basically, WordPress applies minor releases automatically.

By default, every site has automatic updates enabled for minor core releases and translation files since WordPress 3.7. Major core release updates won’t be done automatically.
if you want to disable the auto update feature follow the steps outlined here, but it is not recommended idea to disablle minor auto update as as you may miss important security updates for your site.
