Skype for iPhone application allows the iPhone users to make free calls using skype’s internet telephony service. iPhone users will be able to make free calls using wi-fi, not using the mobile network.
If you have a Skype account you can make calls to other Skype users at no charge. Skype calls from iPhone to landline or cell phones will be charged at cheaper rates.
Skype will turn the voice into data and sends it over the internet. You can download Free Skype for iPhone from the iTunes App Store. Skype’s VoIP app for iPhone is kind of similar to the Skype 4.0 for Windows. Skype will launch a service for BlackBerry soon.
