Apple’s iPhone 3G is a blockbuster, 1 million sold phones in just three days. It is a Internet-enabled multimedia smartphone. It has a multi-touch screen with virtual keyboard and buttons, but a minimal amount of hardware input.
The iPhone was initially introduced in the United States on 29 June 2007 and is in the process of being introduced worldwide. It was named Time magazine’s Invention of the Year in 2007. On 11 July 2008, the iPhone 3G was released and supported faster 3G data speeds and Assisted GPS.
Though IPhone is the Invention of the Year in 2007, but there are other smartphones from HTC, Samsung, RIM, Nokia, LG, and GPS-maker Garmin, that can offer the same features. Of these, about half are not scheduled to be out until the end of this year.
