Mumbai US Consulate will change its address from the landmark Lincoln House in south Mumbai to the Bandra-Kurla Complex(BKC) from December 2009 to put its visa issuing process on the fast track.
Consulate will have 40 visa windows as compared with the 17 visa windows at present, which will increase the visa issuing capacity.Currently Mumbai the consulate issues around 1,500 visas a day.
“The consulate will be moved to an area of 11 acres with the consulate building supporting administrative operations and also the residence of the Consulate General.” said Steven White, deputy chief of mission, US embassy.
