India’s third largest bike maker by volume, TVS Motor Company Ltd re-launched its 125 cc Flame motorcycle with a single spark plug ignition system.
This comes just a few days after the Madras high court restraining making and selling Flame for using the controversial twin-spark plug system.
Bajaj Auto had filed a lawsuit against the TVS claiming that the design was infringing on their patented twin-spark plug system.
“There would be no difference in terms of efficiency,” Venu Srinivasan, chairman and managing director of TVS, said.
TVS is also entering into three-wheeler market, dominated by Bajaj, by launching 200cc auto-rickshaw named ‘TVS King’.
