Jet Airways buys Bandra-Kurla complex (BKC) plot for Rs 826 crores

The Bandra-Kurla complex (BKC) is a planned commercial complex in the suburbs of Mumbai (Bombay). Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) has been known for its mega land deals.

Jet Airways has bagged a commercial plot C-18 with a total developable area of 24,000 sq metre, for Rs 3,44,448 per sq metre. Jet Airways will land up paying Rs 826 crore totally for that plot.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) failed to sell all plots at a land auction for the first time since 1995 due to the global markets slumping.

Jet Airways will pay a premium of only 14% higher than the reserve price set at Rs 3 lakh per sq m. Bidders paid a premium of 230% in the previous auction that happened in November 2007.

Jet Airways said they will build their global headquarters on the plot and shift offices from Andheri

Starlight Systems, a company promoted by Ajay Piramal and Suntech Group, bagged 2 residential plots for Rs 496 crore each. Each plot with total developable area of 7,050 sq metre. Starlite Systems will pay Rs 3,52,000 per square metre.
