HSBC loses 370,000 customer records

HSBC, the UK’s biggest bank has admitted it has lost a disc containing personal details of 370,000 customers after sending it via unregistered mail to Swiss Re.

The customers’ details included their names, dates of birth, their bank accounts and television viewing habits, along with their levels of insurance cover.

HSBC has become the latest organisation to lose customer data in the post.
