AT&T eyes India’s soaring mobile sector

AT&T, one of the foremost providers in the US and the sole provider of the iPhone, is targeting India as it seeks to expand its consumer mobile phone operations outside America.

AT&T is keen to expand overseas, particularly in emerging markets such as India and the Middle East.

We are looking at India because it has very attractive growth opportunities,” Ralph de la Vega, chief executive of AT&T’s mobile business, reported Financial Times.

Nokia and Google to Compete With IPhone

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Nokia the World’s largest cellphone maker announced that it will facilitate Google web search on it’s products.
Nokia will integrate web search on Nokia N96, Nokia N78, Nokia 6210 Navigator and Nokia 6220 classic models. In future web search will be integrated in additional models.

Apple has integrated web search in it’s i-phones. At the GSM World Congress, Google announced that it sees 50 times more search requests coming from Apple iPhones than any other mobile handset.

Just only 8 months on the market, the iPhone from Apple Inc. is prompting strong competitors.
