India Computer Services Revenue to Exceed Forecast

According to NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies) revenue from managing computer networks and operating call centers for foreign clients from India will climb 32% to $52 billion in the year ending March 31.

The revenue would exceed a July forecast of $50 billion estimates.

India-Russia CEO’s Council : Mukesh Ambani to head

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani is going to steer the India- Russia CEO’s Council , which was established to strengthen bilateral business cooperation in the areas of oil, energy, power, transport, telecom and high technology.

10 CEOs each from India and Russia will be on the Council, will work towards converting about billion dollars worth projects under discussion and explore new areas for trade and investment.

Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath announced the appointment at the conclusion of the second meeting of India-Russia Forum on Trade and Investment, coinciding with the visit of Russian Prime Minister Victor A Zubkov.

Oxford introduces M.Sc in Contemporary India

The School of interdisciplinary Area Studies at University of Oxford has launched a new degree course i.e. M.Sc in Contemporary India, in response to ever-increasing interest among students about India and its booming economy.

The course would be an ideal platform for students to take lessons both from India’s success as democracy and its endeavors to tackle its wide-ranging social, political and economical issues.

“India is a fascinating country to study: it is the largest democracy in the world, a regional superpower and has had great IT business success,” Barbara Harris-White, Professor of Development Studies, said.
