Google Search – Server Error

Today I spotted an error message in Google Search,

Server Error
The server encountered an error and could not complete your request.

If the problem persists, please mail error@google.com and mention this error message and the query that caused it.

Looks like Google Search service was temporarily overloaded, but system was back momentarily. This was different from the Gmail error message last time.

YouTube India goes live !

Google’s popular video-sharing Web site YouTube launched its local Indian version at www.youtube.co.in

YouTube India is different in that it features a localized home page and search functions.

YouTube debuts in India with a number of partners, including Zoom channel, UTV and Rajshri Group and other production houses. All uploaded content on YouTube is protected by its digital hash technology for copyright protection.

Yahoo! Joins Google’s OpenSocial Foundation

After several weeks of speculation, Yahoo announced that it is joining the MySpace and Google Inc OpenSocial Foundation to ensure the neutrality and longevity of OpenSocial as an open, community-governed specification for building social applications across the web.

Yahoo’s in its release announced that “Yahoo! believes in supporting community-driven industry specifications and expects that OpenSocial will fuel innovation and make the web more relevant and more enjoyable to millions of users.

Microsoft buys Rapt

Microsoft announced that it acquired Rapt, a San Francisco-based software company used by Web publishers to manage advertising sales, for an undisclosed sum.

Rapt’s products are designed to help online publishers improve the pricing and provisioning of online ads.

Microsoft is making series of acquisitions to in an effort to catch Google Inc, to fill out its gap in the advertisers and publishers space.

Google to help green technology in a mass scale

Search giant Google office lights and computers get their power partly from 9,200 solar panels that cover almost every rooftop at Googleplex in Mountain View, CA, the largest solar array ever installed by a U.S. corporation.
