Have you forgot your LinkSys router password ? No worry, you can reset your LinkSys router password to factory default settings.
Linksys Factory Defaults : This features allows you to restore your original factory settings and start over. This can be accomplished by holding down the Reset button on the back of the linksys router for 30 seconds.
After Resetting, you have to configure the router, go to the following URL (Router Configuration Web Page) in your web browser http://192.168.1.1/ ; connect your laptop or PC to the router Ethernet ports and access the above URL, which will ask you to enter LinkSys default username and password (see below) for the configuration to complete.

default username : admin
default password : admin
Older LinkSys routers
default username : blank [no user name required, don't just it leave blank]
default password : admin
That’s it, you have finished resetting the linksys router to factory defaults.

is it will work for all lynksys routers? and what if I already change everything before?

We have one laptop and one desktop computer set up to the router. We are adding an additional laptop. I do not want to reset the router because the two are working fine. I do not know the password, however, to add an additional router I need the password. Please direct me how to do this. Thank you.

You forgot to tell that you have to plug ethernet port (1), if you want configure something on the AP! so if you try to connect to AP and you pluged to another ethernet port than (1), you`ll not able to connect the AP on 192.168.1.1/
My friend just gave me Linksys wireless B .. 2.4 GHz –
I have a lap top and it down loaded ok. but i have dial up .. do i still use that.. Nothing seems to be working since i have this router. and how do i sign in ith the user name and password. I don’t have that information either but I think i found it online
