If top media sources are to be believed, Bollywood superstars Kareena Kapoor and Aamir Khan are going to team up with Indian Cricket League(ICL).

Kareena had participated in a show last November to launch the ICL.

Superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta has the team ownership of high-profile Indian Premier League (IPL) Kolkata team and Mohali team respectively. Checkout Prices Paid For the Players at IPL Auction.

Unlike the Indian Premier League, the ICL has ruled out handed over ownership to the superstars, Instead of buying the teams, Aamir and Kareena will have multiple sponsorships with ICL teams.

According to the deals,

• Aamir Khan - is set to buy Lahore Badshahs.
• Kareena Kapoor - is set to buy Mumbai Champs.

Six consecutive Olympic gold medal winner hockey champion INDIA, for the first time in 80 years (since their debut in 1928) will not have the men’s hockey team part in 2008 Beijing Olympics.

A heartbroken hockey fraternity reacted with anger as India lost to Great Britain in the final of the Olympic qualifiers 2-0 in Santiago on Sunday night (early Monday morning IST).

In 1928, the Indian team won their first Olympic gold medal. Hockey is the country’s national game despite cricket’s popularity.

From 1928 to 1956, India remained unbeaten in the Olympics garnering six gold medals in a row. Today the Indian team has won a total of 8 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in Olympics.

Subhash Chandra-promoted cricket tournament Indian Cricket League (ICL) announced Edelweiss Capital Limited as the title sponsor for its upcoming tournament.

Tournament starts on March 9. The Twenty20 tournament will be called ‘Edelweiss 20s Challenge’.

The 30-day tournament will be held( March 9 to April 7) at three venues — Hyderabad, Chandigarh (Panchkula) and Gurgaon.
Speaking on the occasion ICL executive board chairman Kapil Dev said,” We welcome Edelweiss on board, and are happy with the overwhelming response we have received from the market. This support will be a sure step in strengthening domestic cricket in the country“
