SanDisk with some of the world’s biggest music companies has launched the slotMusic microSD cards. slotMusic” cards can be inserted into wireless phones and other digital music players with built-in memory card slots.

The users have to insert the slotMusic card into a microSD-enabled mobile phone or MP3 player to hear the music without passwords, downloading or digital-rights-management interfering with their personal use

Apple launched iTunes 8, an updated iPod touch, Apple iPhone software 2.1, and slim iPod nanos.

• iTunes 8 - a new version of its ubiquitous jukebox software that enables users to browse media (music, movies, and TV) by album.

Apple will patch a software update for the iPhone to fix the security flaw that gives unauthorized access to contacts and e-mails.

“The minor iPhone security issue, which surfaced this week, is fixed in a software update which will be released in September,” said Apple spokeswoman Jennifer Bowcock in an e-mail Thursday.
