Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) Selection Criteria process for 2007

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) explains process for selecting candidates for admission to the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) for the batch of 2007.

Written Test is not alone enough to get into the IIMB, IIMB uses multiple parameters, namely academic performance in school, high school and graduation programs as well as candidates’ scores in Common Admission Test (CAT) to judge the suitability of candidates for the PGP program. Relevant work experience, if any, is also given weight in the selection.

Analytical Writing Assessment Section of the GMAT

The Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is designed as a direct measure of your ability to think critically and to communicate your ideas. The AWA consists of two 30-minute writing tasks-Analysis of an Issue and Analysis of an Argument.

A specific knowledge of the essay topic is not necessary; only your capacity to write analytically is assessed.

Quantitative Section of the GMAT

The Quantitative section of the GMAT measures the ability to reason quantitatively, solve quantitative problems, and interpret graphic data. Two types of multiple-choice questions are used in the Quantitative section of the GMAT exam-Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency.

    - read and comprehend written material,
    - reason and evaluate arguments, and
    - correct written material to conform to standard written English.
