World Top Ranking Indian Universities
The four Indian institutions , the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Delhi University (DU),have topped the latest world university rankings, continue to be topped by the universities of Harvard, Cambridge and Oxford, for their strengths in teaching and research.
The IIT ranks 57th and IIM ranks 68th in the world’s top universities list. The JNU comes 183rd in the list. University Rankings from London,the Time Higher Education Supplement has announced the third edition of the rankings.

The IIT ranks 33rd in the list for top 100 science universities. But the IIT has jumped to the third place in the list of top technology universities,after the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of California, Berkeley. The IIMs rank 68th in the list of top technology universities.
Delhi University figures at rank 75,in the world’s top universities in arts and humanities.In the world ranking for top 50 universities outside the US and Britain, the list features the IITs (15th rank), IIMs (19) and JNU (47).
In the overall rankings, Harvard University remains at the top .Cambridge and Oxfordare in second and third place after MIT, which is now ranked fourth.
