YouTube India goes live !

Google’s popular video-sharing Web site YouTube launched its local Indian version at www.youtube.co.in

YouTube India is different in that it features a localized home page and search functions.

YouTube debuts in India with a number of partners, including Zoom channel, UTV and Rajshri Group and other production houses. All uploaded content on YouTube is protected by its digital hash technology for copyright protection.

Aircel plans IPO (Initial Public Offer)

Aircel has decided to raise $1.6 billion (Rs 6,400 crore) in short-term debt in a week and subsequently also come up with an initial public offer (IPO) in a year to fund its companies expansion plans.

Aircel, part of Maxis Communications Berhad, Malaysia, is India’s seventh largest GSM mobile service provider with a subscriber base of over 6.2 million (over 4 million in Chennai & Tamil Nadu alone) and the fastest growing mobile operator in the country.

India’s economy to grow about 8.8% - NCAER Report

According to National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) report , The Indian economy is expected to register a growth rate 8.5-8.8 % during fiscal 2008-09 with stable interest rates but inflation may be higher than last year.
