Tag Heuer luxury mobile phones to cost Rs 2,21,000 in India

After nearly six years of selling premium watches and eyewear in India, Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer, known for expensive watches, is launching luxury mobile phones in India in April.Tag Heuer, division of leading luxury goods company LVMH, will launch the luxury mobile phones in India at the same time as their global launch and the phones will be positioned at the top end of the market and cost about Rs 2,21,000(€ 3500)

Tag Heuer phones will be priced lower than Vertu’s cheapest model. Vertu is a British-based luxury mobile phones manufacturer company which is a subsidiary of Nokia.
The most expensive model Vertu has ever made is the Signature Cobra, at US$310,000 (Rs 12,406,200)

Dr Tonmoy Sharma banned from practising in Britain

The General Medical Council of Britain has decided to “suspend” High-profile Indian psychiatrist doctor Tonmoy Sharma, 42, from the medical register with immediate effect, after he was found guilty of conducting unethical drug tests on mentally ill patients in the country.

Tonmoy Sharma, a former lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, wrongly recruited patients in unsolicited telephone calls without contacting their nurses or carers, the General Medical Council has found.

Dr Sharma, 42, who hails from Assam - India, was a prominent psychiatrist who often appeared on the BBC and wrote books on mental illness. Dr Sharma will get 28 days to lodge an appeal.

Intel creates Numonyx, flash memory company

Intel and STMicroelectronics NV unveiled a new independent semiconductor company “Numonyx” that will develop and manufacture flash-memory products.

Numonyx was formed from the flash memory businesses of Intel Corp. and STMicroelectronics, which will produce NOR and NAND flash microprocessors used in popular devices such as MP3 players, digital cameras and cell phones.

Airtel launches new web portal with Google - airtellive.com

Indian telecom service provider Airtel has announced the launch of an all-in-one Internet portal called Airtel Live .

airtellive.com, is powered by Airtel broadband and Google. Both Google and Airtel Broadband will co-brand and power the services offered by the portal.

This initiative is said to mark the first time a telecommunications firm in India has made Google products officially available on its portal.

Airtel has signed up a partnership deal with some of the content leaders such as shaadi.com, 24×7guru, naukri.com and many others.
